The CDL end was designed in response to the container market demands for a reduction in the consumption of aluminum without sacrificing strength and double seam performance.
Critical to the CDL performance is a revised forming process and shell profile that enables a reduced blank size and metal gauge reduction from 0.0085 of an inch (0.216mm) to 0.0082 of an inch (0.208mm) while maintaining the ability to meet the internal pressure requirements of the leading soft drink and beer beverage customers.
