Beverage market, according to the data published by Statista in March 2023, in 2023, the Vietnam beverage market turnover reached 27.121 billion US dollars. Among them, non-alcoholic beverages accounted for the highest market share of 37.7%, which was also the highest growth rate. In 2023, the turnover of non-alcoholic beverages can reach US $10.22 billion, an increase of 10.4% over 2022, with an average annual growth rate of 6.28% for the 2023-2028 period.
After years of development and construction, Vietnam’s food industry has gradually adapted to a variety of products required by the national economy, met domestic demand, and replaced imports and exports with a variety of styles and categories. Many products have high international and domestic market competitiveness. According to the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the food processing industry accounts for a significant proportion of total industrial output, especially gross domestic product (GDP). Total food sales are estimated to account for 15% of GDP each year. This shows that the food industry has a lot of potential. In addition to great opportunities in the domestic market, Vietnam’s accession to the ASEAN Free Trade Area and WTO membership have boosted exports, particularly of agricultural products and processed food products. The process of integration into the world has a huge impact on enterprises in the Vietnamese food industry. The food industry is open to international cooperation, multilateralization and diversification of cooperation with foreign countries. In addition, taking advantage of all the advantages brought by international cooperation, and in order to improve international competitiveness, the food industry has been constantly innovating, building more foundations, investing in modern scientific and technological equipment, improving and enhancing management level (diversified ownership forms, gradually demutualizing state-owned enterprises), and producing well-known high-quality products with diverse varieties, replacing imported products. To meet domestic demand and increase efforts to promote exports.
